  • You can make a monthly payment of at least the $250 administration charge and keep up a home.
  • The head of household or spouse is 18 or older.
  • Your family is without safe and sanitary housing.
  • You owe nothing to THI, and you have not received a new home through another homeownership program.

The full list, including the criminal history rules, is in Section III.A of THI's policies.

What to bring

THI processes your application only when every item on its checklist comes with it. Answer a few questions and get your own list, with the income limit for your household size.

The THI shall not accept incomplete applications.

After you apply

THI checks what you send. It may ask your employer to confirm your income and may run a credit check.

You get a letter telling you whether you are eligible. If a home is available, the letter says where it is, how many bedrooms it has and when it will be ready. If no home is available yet, you go on the waiting list.

Each applicant will be given written notice of their eligibility within thirty (30) days of the determination.
