An economy that works for everyday people

TechEquity confronts concentrated corporate power and builds political will for an economy that works for everyday people. We do this through advocacy, coalition building, and research that put people at the center of decisions about how technology is developed and used.

A world where people have agency over how technology shapes their economic opportunities, where corporations are governed in the public interest, and where the wealth and power created through technology are shared broadly.

Our vision

Three lenses on one economy

We work on how technology affects people in their roles as workers and as consumers, and on the corporate and market power that shapes how they experience the economy.

Twelve issues, three lenses

Confronting corporate power is the foundation on which the other two areas rest, because when power concentrates, a handful of companies decide who shares in the wealth technology creates, what people can afford, and which jobs exist and on what terms.

How we work

We build trust across worlds that do not usually work together, and we galvanize it into change.

  1. Build coalitions and convene stakeholders, including partners who do not usually sit at the same table, to advance bold ideas.

    Collaborative Action

  2. Translate across technical, policy, and political worlds to spur action.

    Collaborative

  3. Share research, data, tools, and strategy as infrastructure for the field of advocates fighting for people-first technology.

    Collaborative

  4. Advocate for and refine policy proposals as they move through the political process, and ensure they are implemented and enforced.

    Action Collaborative

TechEquity Action (c4) leads the activities that build political will and power and that advocate directly; TechEquity Collaborative (c3) leads research, translation, and equipping the field.
