Department
Animal Control
The animal shelter, dog licensing enforcement, and response to bites, strays, and neglect.
Brunswick County is committed to humane care and professional treatment of pets and other animals. The shelter takes dogs; it is not a state-approved facility for cats.
Adoption is $20 for an animal two to six months old and $25 for an animal six months and older. Virginia State Code 3.2-6574 requires every animal adopted from a shelter to be sterilized after adoption at the owner's expense.
