Solid Waste and Recycling

The landfill, twelve convenience centers, and the County recycling program.

The department runs the Brunswick County Landfill, manages the convenience centers, and operates the recycling program established in 1999 to extend the life of the landfill. The program recycles close to 4,000 tons a year.

Accepted recyclables are corrugated cardboard, aluminum cans, foil and pans, scrap metal, white goods, used oil, pallets, propane tanks, batteries, plastics numbered 1 and 2, paper, and textiles.
