Land use, subdivision and zoning enforcement, the Comprehensive Plan, and 911 addressing.
The Planning Department reviews and recommends on every land-use matter that reaches the Planning Commission and the Board of Supervisors. It reviews plans of development against County ordinances and enforces the Subdivision and Zoning Ordinances.
The Comprehensive Plan is the foundation of that work: it guides growth and carries recommendations for the County's future development. Planning staff work with residents on every plan amendment.
