Preparedness, response, and recovery for disasters and emergencies, and the County EMS agency.
The department protects residents, visitors, and property during disasters and emergencies under the Code of Virginia 44.1-146.13 and following. It consists of the County Administrator, the Emergency Management Coordinator, the EMS Supervisor, and other officials, employees, and volunteers as needed.
It is responsible for prevention, preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery, and for steering and managing the County's EMS agency.
