A 5 percent lodging tax applies to hotels, motels, rooming houses, and any other facility renting rooms for 30 days or less. File and pay through the County's eServices site, or mail the form to the Commissioner of the Revenue.
The rules
- Rate
- 5 percent of the room charge
- Who owes it
- Hotels, motels, rooming houses, and other facilities renting rooms for 30 days or less
- Due
- Reported and submitted or postmarked by the last day of the month after collection
- Late
- 5 percent per month, minimum $10, plus 8 percent annual interest
- A month with no tax
- The return must still be filed
Filing and paying
On the Treasurer's site choose Payment Options, then Pay Transient Lodging Tax.
