Fairmont's parks trace the chain of lakes: a pool for the season, a dog park, shelter houses to reserve, and trails along the water. Plan a visit or book a space below.
Fairmont keeps nearly 400 acres of parks, playgrounds, athletic fields, green spaces, and flower gardens, threaded by miles of trails and walkways along the lakes.
Aquatic Park
The city outdoor Aquatic Park runs on a seasonal schedule; weather closings post the same morning. It is one of the community projects funded over the years by profits from the municipal liquor store.
Dog Park
The Dog Park at 1450 S. Prairie Avenue is a 1.5 acre off leash site with two enclosed all natural turf play areas, water, trail access, paved parking, shade structures, and seating, open daily during daylight hours.
Reserve a shelter
Three enclosed shelter houses at Lincoln Park, Sylvania Park, and Cedar Creek Park are available to rent for gatherings and weddings; open air shelters are first come, first served.

Seasonal programs
The parks work year round: winter grounds offer sledding, ice skating, and cross country skiing, and each fall the city runs curbside leaf collection across town.

Fairmont Municipal Airport
The city airport, identifier FRM, at 2160 E Blue Earth Avenue has a 5,500 foot runway, a modern terminal and pilot lounge, attended and unattended fuel, and sits 1.5 miles from Interstate 90.

Yard Waste Recycling Site
A yard waste recycling site at 1880 100th Street for Fairmont utility customers, open April through November, maintained by the Streets and Park Department.
