County Clerk

How do I request public records?

Written request

When Kansas Open Records Act

The County Clerk is the county's Freedom of Information Officer. Many records are already on this site.

Commission minutes, budgets, levies, and resolutions are published here. For anything else the County holds, send a written request to the Clerk under the Kansas Open Records Act.

What to do

  1. Search the published records first; commission minutes back to 2017 and county budgets are available online.
  2. For other records, write to the County Clerk at 111 S Hersey, PO Box 190, Beloit, KS 67420, or mcclerk@mitchellcountyks.gov, describing the record.
  3. Copies of recorded land documents come from the Register of Deeds at one dollar a page.
  4. Court records are held by the Clerk of the District Court at 785-738-3753.
