Accessibility
Accessible to every resident
This website is built to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 at level AA, the standard the U.S. Department of Justice applies to county governments under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
What that means on every page
- Every page works with a keyboard alone, and the focus is always visible.
- Text and its background meet the contrast ratio the guidelines require, at rest and when a link or button is hovered or focused.
- Every image has a text description, and decorative images are marked so screen readers skip them.
- Headings, landmarks, and lists are coded as what they are, so a screen reader can move through a page by its structure.
- Every button and link is at least 24 pixels tall and wide, and the phone numbers are tappable.
- Text can be enlarged to 200 percent without losing anything, and the pages reflow on a phone.
- Motion is kept small and stops entirely when a device asks for reduced motion.
- The search box announces its suggestions, and the live burn status announces when it changes.
Documents
The records section includes the county's published budgets, minutes, forms, and maps as PDF files. Most are text documents that a screen reader can read. A few older ones are scanned images; their text is indexed for search so they can be found, and the office that published each one will provide it in another format on request.
