Caring for the water and air we share
Lake Erie is the greatest resource the region shares. The council coordinates clean-water and clean-air planning so member governments can protect it together.
Clean water for the Maumee and the western basin
The council helps the region plan for clean water by protecting and restoring rivers and streams, coordinating safe water-supply and wastewater systems, and advancing the Agenda for Lake Erie, a regional consensus document for the lake's health.
Through Student Watershed Watch, students test water quality at sites across the watershed each year, building the next generation of stewards while gathering real data.

Cleaner air across the region
The council runs the region's air-quality programs: Ozone Action Season alerts during the summer, when ground-level ozone is highest, and Gohio Commute, the alternative-transportation and trip-planning resource that helps residents drive less.
Annual air-quality summaries track the region's progress and keep the public informed.
