🔧 Working prototype by Stoa — a concept for the Lake Erie West website redesign, not the official site. Real content is drawn from the council's current site.
Accessibility

A website that works for everyone

Government information should reach every resident. This is the accessibility commitment a redesigned Lake Erie West site would hold itself to.

Our standard

A redesigned Lake Erie West website would be built and maintained to WCAG 2.2 Level AA — the current W3C standard and a superset of the WCAG 2.1 AA baseline that the ADA Title II rule sets for state and local governments. That means:

  • Every image carries meaningful alternative text
  • Color contrast meets or exceeds 4.5:1 for body text
  • Every feature works with a keyboard and with screen readers
  • Motion respects the visitor's reduced-motion setting
  • Documents posted to the site are checked for accessibility

This prototype

This working prototype is tested with axe-core against WCAG 2.2 A/AA on every page, plus keyboard and reduced-motion checks. Accessibility is treated as a build requirement, not an afterthought.

Tell us about a barrier

If any part of the site is hard to use, the council would want to know and fix it. Reach the Chief of Staff at hoelzle@LakeErieWest.org or 419-241-9155.
