More than 80 member governments — counties, cities, villages, townships, schools, and special districts — meet as one body to set regional priorities. This is how the partnership is structured, who leads it, and where to find its governing records.
The General Assembly sets the table
Lake Erie West is a voluntary council of governments. Its General Assembly — representatives from every member organization — is the primary governing body. The Assembly elects the Governing Board and the council's officers, who guide the work between Assembly meetings. Standing boards and committees carry the detailed work in transportation, environment, development, and finance.
The partnership runs on consensus: members reach agreement on how to share responsibilities for clean water, a connected transportation system, and a growing regional economy.
