Municipal Court details

What the court cannot do

  • The City does not take messages for the Municipal Court Judge. He is a circuit court judge, available only on scheduled court dates in person, and does not accept phone calls.
  • The Judge and court staff cannot discuss the merits of pending judicial proceedings before trial, and cannot give legal advice.
  • No weapons are allowed in the courtroom or the Court Clerk's office. This includes any firearm loaded or unloaded, Taser, chemical weapon, knife or bludgeon.
  • The court has a dress code. The Judge will not hear cases if the dress code is not adhered to.
