Are you asking about a fare discount, or about a ride that comes to your door?
A fare discount for age or disability
That is the County Express Courtesy Card. It gives the cardholder a discount on passes and tokens based on age or disability. The Courtesy Card is not the same as paratransit eligibility. It is a fare program, not a determination that you cannot use the fixed-route bus. Applications take 7 to 10 business days to process. Call 831-636-4161 to ask about applying.
A ride that comes to your door
A disability prevents you from using the regular Tripper or Intercounty bus, for some or all trips
ADA paratransit and specialized transportation are built for exactly this. Both are operated under contract by Transdev Services, Inc., the same company that operates County Express's fixed routes. Call 831-636-4161 to start the eligibility process and ask what documentation it needs.
You can use the regular bus, but you want a curb-to-curb ride within Hollister or San Juan Bautista

One operator, two names to know
County Express and Specialized Transportation are both operated under contract by Transdev Services, Inc.
Jovenes de Antaño is a local nonprofit that serves older adults and people with disabilities in San Benito County. It is not the operator of paratransit or specialized transportation; it is a community organization riders may already know from other services, separate from the dispatch line at 831-636-4161.
