Regional planning

The plans behind the corridor

SBCOG is the Regional Transportation Planning Agency for San Benito County. Its long-range plans set the horizon the road projects and Measure G spending work toward, from the 2050 Regional Transportation Plan down to the route a child walks to school.

The long horizon

The 2050 Regional Transportation Plan and MTP/SCS

SBCOG's regional transportation plan and its Metropolitan Transportation Plan / Sustainable Communities Strategy are adopted together and set the county's transportation priorities out to 2050.

Unmet Transit Needs reports

SBCOG hears and documents unmet transit needs each year as part of its state transportation funding responsibilities. Three reports are in the corpus.

Getting there on foot and by bike

Complete Streets, Safe Routes to School, and the bike map

SBCOG's Complete Streets work shows up concretely in two places: the Safe Routes to School program, which studies how children walk and bike to specific schools, and the county's bike lanes map.

Fair access

Title VI

SBCOG's Title VI program sets out how it ensures its planning work does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, or national origin, and how a rider or resident can file a complaint.

Airport Land Use Commission

The Airport Land Use Commission reviews land use around the county's airports for compatibility with airport operations. Its recent agenda packets are below; the rest are with the county's other public bodies.
