Who plans the road, and who runs the buses on it
SBCOG and the LTA are two separate agencies sharing one office and one corridor. This site is the first place either has answered, in one spot, who does which job.
Where the blue comes from
San Benito County is the only place benitoite is found in quantity anywhere in the world, which is also where the county's name and the gem's name meet. The blue used throughout this site is drawn from that gem. It is not a stock accent color; it is a plain fact about the place.

- The Regional Transportation Planning Agency for San Benito County
- Does
- Plans and funds the road: the 2050 RTP and MTP/SCS, the SR 25 and SR 156 improvement projects, Measure G administration, Safe Routes to School, Title VI, and the Airport Land Use Commission

- Eight boards and committees with posted packets; the LTA Board also serves as the SBCOG Board
LTA
- Role
- The county's transit agency
- Does
- Runs County Express: the Tripper loop, the Intercounty run to Gilroy, Dial-A-Ride, ADA paratransit and specialized transportation, and the rideshare and vanpool program
- Operated by
- Both County Express and Specialized Transportation are operated under contract by Transdev Services, Inc.
SBCOG plans and funds State Route 25. County Express runs the buses on it. The corridor is the object both agencies work on, from opposite ends.
