County Express

Dial-A-Ride

Curb-to-curb service in Hollister and San Juan Bautista, booked by phone at 831-636-4161. There is no fixed route or timetable: dispatch sends a vehicle to your door.

Service area

Where Dial-A-Ride runs

Dial-A-Ride covers Hollister and San Juan Bautista curb to curb, reaching the ground the Tripper's fixed loop through Hollister and the Intercounty line to Gilroy do not cover directly. If a trip starts and ends inside that area, dispatch can pick you up where you are and drop you where you are going.

Booking a ride

Call dispatch to schedule a pickup

Dial-A-Ride does not run on a posted timetable, so a ride starts with a phone call. Dial County Express dispatch at 831-636-4161 and give your pickup address, your destination, and when you need to travel. Dispatch can tell you how far ahead to call for the time you need.

Dial-A-Ride or paratransit

Two different services, one dispatch line

Dial-A-Ride is open to any rider travelling within Hollister or San Juan Bautista. It is not limited to riders with a disability, and it is not the same program as ADA paratransit, which is a separate service reserved for riders whose disability keeps them from using the fixed-route bus. Both are reached at the same dispatch number, 831-636-4161.
