When Certificates come from the State
Kansas birth and death certificates are issued by the Office of Vital Statistics in Topeka; marriage licenses are issued by the Clerk of the District Court in Beloit.
Mitchell County does not issue birth or death certificates. The Kansas Office of Vital Statistics does, by mail or online. Marriage licenses come from the District Court clerk at 115 S Hersey.
What to do
- Order a birth or death certificate from the Kansas Office of Vital Statistics, 1000 SW Jackson, Suite 120, Topeka, KS 66612, 785-296-1400, Monday to Friday 9 to 4.
- For a marriage license, contact the Clerk of the District Court at 785-738-3753.
- For a copy of a recorded document such as a deed, see the Register of Deeds.
