Help Beyond Food

Many people think we only distribute food. We do that, and we also do so much more.

Fulfill understands that sometimes you need help getting enough to eat and making ends meet. We are here for you and we want you to find the help you need.

SNAP food benefits

Extra funds for food can help you get through some of the rough patches in life. The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) can provide you with financial benefits each month that can be used to buy food.

Assistance is available at our Neptune and Toms River sites, as well as at many community sites we visit.

For more information or to make an appointment, call 732-643-5888 or email snap@fulfillnj.org.

Health insurance

Health coverage protects you and your family against very high expenses if you get sick or hurt. You may qualify for very low cost or free healthcare – financial assistance is available. In New Jersey, if you don’t have health coverage, you may have to pay a penalty when you file your taxes.

If you need help, Fulfill is a state Navigator agency, and our trained healthcare experts can help you find insurance that meets your needs as well as provides financial assistance to pay for the insurance, if you qualify, both through the Marketplace and NJ FamilyCare. 8 out of 10 people in NJ qualify for financial assistance.

While open enrollment for the Marketplace ends January 31, the enrollment period for those eligible for NJ FamilyCare is year round.

Assistance is available by phone, Zoom and in person by appointment. All assistance is free.

Please call 732-643-5888 for an appointment and further information, or email Health@fulfillnj.org.

Food for older adults

Fulfill delivers monthly 30-pound boxes of food for very low-income seniors. This food is provided by the USDA’s Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP).

Fulfill calls it Senior Staples. It is for seniors 60 years of age and over who meet income requirements, and the boxes are picked up at the CSFP sites on Fulfill’s distribution calendar by registered applicants. The flyer lists the income limits by household size.

Interested in applying to pick up at a listed CSFP site? Contact Kendal: 732-233-2602, kmcgackin@fulfillnj.org.

Senior residences and senior-serving organizations that want to bring Senior Staples to the people they serve can call the Senior Food Program at 732-643-5889.

The B.E.A.T. Center

The B.E.A.T. Center stands for Bringing Everyone All Together, and is a hub for community services that end the cycle of food insecurity. Located in Toms River, the B.E.A.T. Center is a partnership of Fulfill, the People’s Pantry and the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Kitchen.

The Resource Connections Team (RCT) at the B.E.A.T. Center provides free, in-person assistance with applying for SNAP (food assistance), Get Covered NJ (health insurance marketplace), and NJ FamilyCare (Medicaid). Staff offer step-by-step guidance through the entire application process, helping individuals and families understand eligibility requirements, gather necessary documents, and accurately complete forms. Additional community resources and referrals are available upon request, connecting individuals to a wide range of supportive services.

Fulfill’s Community Impact program, based at The B.E.A.T. Center, works to address the root causes of food insecurity by connecting neighbors with the resources and support they need to achieve long-term stability and well-being. Through a collaborative, community-centered approach, the department helps individuals and families connect with workforce development opportunities, housing and utility resources, and other essential services. By partnering with local nonprofits, healthcare providers, government agencies, and community organizations, Fulfill creates a welcoming “one-stop” resource hub where neighbors can find support, build self-sufficiency, and improve their quality of life.
