Before You Walk
Parking
Downtown is laid out in hundred-blocks and walked end to end in about fifteen minutes, so where you leave the car matters less here than in most places.
What the Record Shows
- There is a parking garage, and an alley connects it to Main Street. An artist interviewed by the Creative District describes having work hanging in that alley, which makes the walk in from the garage part of the exhibit rather than a service corridor.
- Visitors quoted in the DDA’s own press coverage single out how much free parking there is. That is a traveller’s impression rather than a published rule, and it is repeated here as one.
What Is Missing, and Why
Garage locations, hours, rates, permit rules and what changes on an event day are all things this page should carry and none of them are in the archived capture this site was built from. Both downtown sites refuse automated requests, so nothing further could be read without asking the DDA directly.
Inventing plausible rates would have finished the page and made it dangerous. It is left honest instead, and the same rule holds everywhere else here: if the record does not say it, the page does not either.
Getting Here How This Site Handles Gaps
Where this comes from: an artist profile on gjcreates.org and a press release on downtowngj.org. The absence of everything else is recorded on the Sources page rather than papered over here. All sources
