Participating Lenders
CHFA sets the rate and the rules. A participating lender takes the application, underwrites it, and closes the loan.
You apply to a lender, not to CHFA
Every CHFA homebuyer mortgage is originated by a bank, credit union, or mortgage company that CHFA has approved. That covers Make it Yours, HFA Preferred, HFA Advantage, the government-insured programs, and the down payment assistance that goes with them.
That lender pulls your credit, verifies your income against CHFA’s limits, and submits the file. CHFA reviews it and purchases the loan.
Build For CT
Participating lenders for middle-income housing
Build For CT is CHFA’s joint initiative with the Connecticut Department of Housing to finance housing for middle-income households. These are the lenders CHFA lists for it, with the contact CHFA publishes.
