WCAG 2.2 Level AA

Accessibility

Our commitment to an accessible website and help when you encounter a barrier.

Our accessibility standard

CHFA aims to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA across this website. The ADA Title II compliance deadline for public entities serving 50,000 or more people is April 26, 2027.

How the website supports access

  • Every page declares its language, uses real headings in order, and puts its content inside landmarks a screen reader can jump between.
  • Interactive controls work by keyboard and use a visible focus indicator.
  • Text and controls meet WCAG contrast requirements.
  • Every interactive target is at least 24 by 24 pixels, and primary civic actions are at least 44.
  • Currency state is written out in words as well as drawn as a shape and a color, so nothing on this site depends on color alone.
  • Motion respects reduced-motion preferences.
  • Core navigation and content remain available without JavaScript.
  • Pages are tested with automated tools, keyboards, and screen readers.

Accessible documents

CHFA is working to make published documents accessible, including tags, reading order, form fields, and alternative text. High-use documents are prioritized.
