The steps

  1. Apply

Start with Southwest Tech's free application. There is no fee and no wrong time of year to apply; the launched site links the College's online application here.

  2. Build a student success plan

Set up a meeting with a Student Success Specialist to talk through your interests and start a student success plan, which covers career assessments, a college budget, and the support and services you'll want lined up before your first class.

  3. Send your transcripts, if you have credit to transfer

Coming in with credit from high school, another college, or the military? Send official transcripts to Student Services. An advisor reviews them and confirms what transfers. See how Southwest Tech credentials stack for how transferred credit can carry toward the next rung.

  4. Meet with your program advisor

Every Southwest Tech program student is assigned an advisor. New and continuing students meet with theirs to build or update the student success plan before registering.

  5. Register for classes

New students start with New Student Registration; registration for each term opens and closes on set dates. Check the events calendar for the next registration and orientation dates.

  6. Pay and get ready for your first day

Tuition and fees are due the first day of the term for students without financial aid on file. See Paying for college for aid, deadlines, and payment options.
