Accessibility on this site
Every student, family member, and community member should be able to use this site, on any device, with any assistive technology.
What this site aims for
This site is built to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA, the current W3C recommendation. That exceeds the WCAG 2.1 AA baseline that ADA Title II regulations reference for public institutions.
- Every page works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator throughout.
- Text and interface colors meet AA contrast, checked programmatically against every color pair the site uses.
- Pages declare their language, use one clear heading structure, and name every landmark, so screen readers can navigate by region.
- Animation is opt-in: visitors who set reduced motion get the complete site with motion switched off.
- Core tasks work with scripting disabled: the menu, every page, and browse paths to programs, events, and documents.
- Touch targets meet the 24 pixel minimum, with 44 pixels for primary actions.
How it is checked
Every page is scanned with an industry-standard automated accessibility checker (axe-core, WCAG 2.2 A and AA rules) and reviewed by hand with keyboard navigation and screen-reader passes. Automated scanning covers roughly a third of WCAG criteria; the manual review covers what machines cannot judge.
