Water Conservation and Watering Days
Brushy Creek Municipal Utility District has revised its state-approved Drought Contingency Plan to reduce the risk to its water sources (Lake Georgetown and Lake Stillhouse) falling to critically low levels during a severe drought.
My Brushy Creek
Three things the District publishes depend on your household: the days your address may water, whether this is your recycling week, and which price column you pay. Answer once and this site keeps the answers on this device only.
Watering days
- Odd-Numbered Addresses
- Tuesday and/or Saturday
- Even-Numbered Addresses
- Wednesday and/or Sunday
The Watering Schedule
At all times when the District’s Drought and Emergency Water Management Stages are not in effect, users are requested to voluntarily limit the use of water for non-essential purposes and to practice water conservation, including by limiting landscape irrigation use to not more than twice per week in accordance with the following voluntary watering schedule:
- Odd-Numbered Addresses
- Tuesday and/or Saturday
- Even-Numbered Addresses
- Wednesday and/or Sunday
In the event no address number exists for the outdoor water use location, Users are requested to voluntarily restrict water use to the same days as even-numbered addresses.
The Drought Plan
Since the District receives water that is under the jurisdiction of the Brazos River Authority (BRA), it also follows BRA’s drought plan.
Customers are required to reduce water usage according to the guidelines of the drought plan.
The District diverts raw water from Lake Georgetown pursuant to a water supply agreement with the Brazos River Authority (BRA). The District will comply with and implement any applicable drought contingency requirements set forth in the water supply contract with BRA, or that may be implemented pursuant to BRA’s Drought Contingency Plan. District residents are encouraged to limit their use of water for non-essential purposes and to practice water conservation. Brazos River Drought Information
Sewer Averaging
Our sewer averaging period starts November 1 and runs through the end of February. Since water consumption is generally lower during the winter months, conserving water during this period may help reduce your monthly wastewater fees.
If you experience a water leak or filled a swimming pool (10,000 gallons or more) between November 2026 and February 2027, you may qualify for a sewer averaging adjustment. To request a review, complete and submit the Sewer Averaging Adjustment Form.
