Before Your Flight
How early should I arrive for my flight?
Arrive two hours before departure.
What are the security checkpoint hours?
The TSA screens from 4:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily. Screening may be extended briefly in some circumstances, but plan on the scheduled hours unless your airline or a TSA representative at TVC confirms an extension. Once screening has finished for the evening it does not resume until 4:00 a.m. the next morning.
What time does the airport open?
The terminal doors open between 3:30 a.m. and 4:00 a.m., set by the earliest flight of the day. Ticket counters and the TSA checkpoint open at the same time.
The Airport Administration office is open Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Do children need ID to fly?
TSA does not require children under 18 to show identification for domestic travel. Check TSA's current ID guidance, and ask your airline about its own requirements, especially if a child is flying alone.
What should I know before flying with a pet or service animal?
Pet rules, carrier sizes, fees, and required paperwork vary by airline. Review the U.S. Department of Transportation pet guidance, then check with your airline before you travel.
For a service animal, review the current U.S. Department of Transportation guidance and forms. At TVC, ask an airline or airport team member for the nearest relief area.

Does the airport have a lost and found?
For anything left on the aircraft, contact your airline and file a claim with them. For anything left in the terminal or the parking lots, call the Administration office at 231-947-2250, extension 0.
Who handles a baggage problem?
The airline does. Baggage, changes, refunds, and group bookings all belong to the airline rather than to the airport. Every airline's number is on the airline directory.
