A redesign concept for a public-private capital organization whose central obligation is showing the public where the money went — as a navigable record rather than an annual report PDF.

Case study overview
The problem
An organization that deploys public capital into private companies lives or dies on legibility. If a legislator, a founder, or a reporter cannot trace what was funded, when, and what came of it, the organization looks opaque regardless of how well it performs — and the usual artifact, a yearly PDF, answers none of those questions at the moment someone asks them.
The approach
The public record becomes the product. A Capital Atlas connects 75 portfolio companies, 28 network organizations, and 13 award cycles across the state, so the money can be followed by company, by partner, or by year rather than only by report. The masthead Search-or-Ask box covers all 203 published records. Underneath, awards, grants, portfolio companies, documents, and news are structured content types rather than pages, which is what gives staff durable editorial control — a new award cycle becomes data entry, not a redesign. The visual system takes the existing mark and extends it into a statewide match rail, pairing Radio Canada Big, Rethink Sans, and Azeret Mono with the corporation's own photography.
The result
Twelve routes on a real WordPress theme over 203 source-backed records, WCAG 2.2 AA with zero axe violations across all 10 tested routes.
