Case study overview
The problem
A very small city with an unusual character gets served badly by generic municipal templates. The standard civic information architecture assumes departments and services this city does not have, while the things residents genuinely deal with — trail access, gate policy, architectural review, community events — get squeezed into an ill-fitting menu.
The approach
The build is shaped to the city as it actually operates rather than to a municipal template, with records and an events calendar as first-class surfaces because in a community this size the calendar and the record are the civic life. It runs as a real WordPress build so a small staff can maintain it, and the accessibility work is documented rather than claimed.
The result
