Pay a Bill
Which bills are the City's, which belong to another utility, and where each one is paid.
Bills the City Sends
Permit and inspection fees, parking tickets, animal impound fees, ambulance and CPR charges, police and Westcom report fees, and other City invoices.
Xpress Bill Pay
Animal impound fees are paid online through Xpress Bill Pay or in person at City Hall. Permit and inspection fees are paid inside the Tyler EnerGov portal at the point the permit is issued.
Bills from Somebody Else
Three of the bills residents most often bring to the City are not the City's to take.
- Water, sewer, garbage and recycling are billed by West Des Moines Water Works, a separate utility with its own board. One bill covers all four.
- Gas and electricity are billed by MidAmerican Energy.
- Property taxes are collected by your county treasurer, Polk for most of the city and Dallas on the west side.
Other Payments
Facility rentals and recreation programs are paid through the City's recreation account. Donations to City programs run through Click & Pledge.
