Ashworth Road Reconstruction - 19th Street to 23rd Street

Spring 2026 to Spring 2027

Roadway improvements on Ashworth Road (from 19th Street to 23rd Street) are ongoing. Starting August 20th, contractors limited access between 20th Street and 22nd Street for storm sewer installation.

Booneville Road Reconstruction – S. 60th to Raccoon River Drive

This section of Booneville Road remains closed for paving.

EP True Parkway – Bridgewood Boulevard to Wendover Lane, and Grand Prairie Parkway to Bridgewood Boulevard

Summer 2025 to Fall 2026

The contractor opened EP True Parkway from Wendover Lane to South Grand Prairie Parkway to traffic on August 17th. Crews will remain on site for final punch list items, as well as restoration and clean up.

Grand Avenue Reconstruction – I35 to South 60th Street

Spring 2025 to Summer 2026

Paving of the new lanes is complete. The contractor is currently finishing installation of the new traffic signal at the intersection of 60th Street and Grand Avenue, median construction, and backfill.

Grand Prairie Parkway & EP True Parkway Intersection Improvements

The contractor has completed paving at the intersection, the medians are complete, and the traffic signals have been installed and activated. Work continues on restoration and punch list items.

Mills Civic Parkway Reconstruction - S. 91st to S. Grand Prairie Parkway

Spring 2025 to Fall 2026

The contractor has closed Mills Civic Parkway from South 91st Street to South Grand Prairie Parkway. Phase 1—which involved grading, storm sewer installation, roadway paving, erosion control, and tying into the existing pavement at South 91st Street—is now complete.

Mills Civic Parkway Widening – S. 81st Street To S. 88th Street

This project is substantially complete. The contractor will remain on site to complete punch list items and restore the site.

Riverview Drive & South 81st Street Extension

Spring 2026 to Fall 2026

Mainline paving is complete and finish grading is in progress. Trail paving along Riverview Dr and S 81st St is expected to start the week of August 31st.

The contractor has finished earthwork, site grading, water main, and storm sewer installation. They have begun subgrade and subdrain work to prepare the site for paving in September.

Stonewood Pavement Repairs

Spring 2026 to Fall 2026

Iowa Contracting is paving Stonewood Dr on August 26th. Once the new pavement has adequately cured they will begin driveways and backfill of the right-of-way.

12th & Vine Regional Stormwater Detention Facility

Spring 2026 to Fall 2026

Grading operations are nearly complete. Installation of storm sewer structures is expected to begin in 1 to 2 weeks.

16th Street & Grand Avenue Intersection Improvements

Summer 2026 to Spring 2027

The contractor closed the intersection at 16th Street to begin pavement removal the week of July 20th. One lane of Grand Avenue remains open in each direction.

2026 HMA Resurfacing Program - Phase 1

The contractor has completed paving on 13th Street (Grand Avenue to Vine Street), Prospect Ave (24th Street to 19th Street), 72nd Street, 68th Street, and Woodland Avenue, Western Hills Drive (47th Street to Valley West Drive), Aspen Drive (47th Street to 41st Street); 17th Street (Buffalo Road to Center Place); Ponderosa Drive; the intersection of 71st and Dakota; 45th Street (between Woodland and Pleasant); Wistful Vista Drive (S. 49th Street to Meadow Valley Drive); and Stonebridge Road (39th Street to Valley West Drive).

2026 HMA Resurfacing Program - Phase 2

Roadway improvements are complete on Woodland Ave (22nd Street to 20th Street), Woodland Avenue (28th to 22nd Street), 24th Street (Woodland Ave to 1148 24th Street), and 18th Street (Ashworth Road to Woodland Avenue). Under single-lane closures, crews will return to finalize sidewalks, intake box outs, and restoration until all project requirements are met.

2026 PCC Patching Program - Phase 1

Roadway improvements along Prairie View Drive (EP True Parkway to Aspen Drive) have begun, and this section of road is closed to through traffic. Roadway improvements along 52nd Street and Boulder Drive (Walnut Street to Knolls Road) will begin on Friday, August 28th.
