The Village Board

The Mayor and members of the Village Board appoint a professional Village Administrator to manage day-to-day operations. Should a seat be vacated, it is filled as prescribed in the Illinois Municipal Code.

Boards & commissions

Board of Fire and Police Commissioners

Oversees public-safety hiring and discipline.

Planning and Zoning Commission

Reviews development, variances, and the zoning map. Next meeting June 30, 6:00 p.m.

Local Liquor Commission

Reviews liquor licenses and renewals.

Police Pension Board

Administers the police pension fund.

Joint Review Board (TIF)

Reviews tax-increment financing districts.

Adjudication hearings

Local hearings for Village ordinance citations.

Strategic Plan

The Board adopted the Strategic Plan 2024 Update on October 21, 2024, building on the 2018 plan. Its six focus areas:
