Public Works

Streets, water, stormwater, and trees: the crews that keep the Village running underneath everything else.

Submit a service request

Potholes, water concerns, drainage, downed limbs? Submit a Service Request routes the issue to the right crew. On the production build, every request gets a tracking number and a status you can check.

Streets & the 2026 road program

Ever wondered why some streets get resurfaced while others in worse shape wait? The Village published a plain-language explainer in April 2026: it comes down to strategy, cost, and making the most of taxpayer dollars combined with sequencing work alongside utility projects and pavement condition. Read the explainer →

Water

Round Lake's drinking water is Lake Michigan water, purchased through the Central Lake County Joint Action Water Agency, with the Village maintaining the local lines. Rates are on the utility bill page.

Stormwater

Drainage and flooding concerns are managed by Public Works. Report standing water or blocked storm drains through the Request Center.

Trees

Public Works maintains parkway trees. Planting a parkway tree or removing one requires a permit.

Sign requests

Damaged stop sign or street-name sign? Submit a sign request and the crew takes it from there.

Cost share programs

Announced May 27, 2026: two cost share programs help residents enhance their property while improving the community. Details in Village news →
