By train
The Danbury Branch runs 23.9 miles up from Norwalk and stops at 8 stations, Bethel among them. Many weekday trains continue down the New Haven Line to Stamford and Grand Central, so the trip can be made without changing at South Norwalk.
By car
Interstate 84 passes through Bethel, and the town sits at the meeting of four others: Redding to the south, Danbury to the west, Brookfield to the north, and Newtown to the east
Greenwood Avenue itself runs 1.5 mi end to end, about 30 minutes on foot. Park once to explore the avenue. Plumtrees Road, Stony Hill and Huntington State Park are each about ten minutes by car from the Square.
By bus
Housatonic Area Regional Transit runs the local bus service through Bethel. Routes, fares and timetables are on its own site.

Bethel’s hotels sit together on Route 6 at the north end of town, about 11 minutes by car from P.T. Barnum Square. Avocado Mexican Restaurant, Target and the Big Y market are on the same stretch.
