How the Data Was Gathered

Records were collected from public sources that permit automated access, one request at a time, with an identifying user agent. Every host’s robots.txt was read before anything else on it, and a refusal ended that source: several of Bethel’s busiest calendars ask automated clients to stay out, so their dates are not here except where the Town republishes them. The Town’s own website asks the same; it was read only for the Town’s photographs that appear here, slowly and with the same identifying agent. Those photographs remain the Town’s, and their reuse is confirmed with the Town before launch.

Walking distances are computed from the OpenStreetMap centerline of Greenwood Avenue at a stated pace of about 3 miles an hour.
