What that means here

• Every page works from the keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline that meets contrast requirements.
• Text contrast is checked against the paper and ink used throughout; the signature orange is used for display type and fills, never for small text.
• Every interactive control is at least 44 pixels tall and wide.
• Every photograph carries alternative text describing what it shows, not just what it is called.
• The site works without JavaScript: the avenue, the directory, the calendar and every record render on the server. The walk planner needs JavaScript, and says so.
• Animation is limited to short color transitions, and stops entirely when the browser asks for reduced motion.
• The page language is declared, headings run in order, and every region sits inside a landmark.
