Wheeler Opera House

The main theatre. General admission or reserved seating, for live events, films, and lectures.

The Vault at the Wheeler

The newly renovated Vault is the newest room at the Wheeler available to rent.

Rates and rental terms

Current room rates are quoted by the box office for your date, room, and rental type. Community rates are kept affordable using revenue from the Wheeler Real Estate Transfer Tax.

Hours
Performances are expected to end no later than 11:00 p.m. All rentals must be loaded out no later than midnight after the event ends.
Events per day
No more than two events in one rental day without the venue’s approval.
Overtime
1.5x the listed hourly rate for personnel working more than ten hours in any 24 hours, more than eight hours in a day, or any graveyard-shift call between midnight and 8:00 a.m.
Booking window
Rental requests must be made within 75 days of the event.
Unavailable to rent
Mid-June through mid-August, when the Wheeler Opera House is home to the resident opera company of the Aspen Music Festival and School.
Ticketing
Every publicly ticketed event is sold and issued through the Wheeler Box Office, the Aspen Show Tix office.

Non-union. A minimum Wheeler crew of well-qualified production staff is required for all events.
Production management
The production manager or a designated representative must be present for all operations on stage.
Audio
Avid S6L audio console.
Communications
Wireless Clear-com system.
Projection
Barco Laser 4K projector.
Sustainability
Zero single-use plastic. Only compostable or reusable items are permitted, as part of the Wasteless at the Wheeler program.

  • A preferred date and a backup date
  • Expected attendance
  • The type of rental: general admission or reserved seating, a free event, a live ticketed event, a private event, or a reception, with or without a bar
  • Your schedule: load-in, start, and end times
