Thank you for considering Muhlhauser Barn for your event.
The historic Muhlhauser Barn is a seasonal facility available each year from April 1 through November 15. The rental fee is $2,000 per day for weekends/holidays, which are considered Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. No rental on weekdays (Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays). Discounts are available for eligible 501c3 non-profit organizations and renters who book consecutive days.
Weekend renters have access starting at 10:00 a.m. and ending at midnight on the day of their reservation. All weekend reservations are considered “full day” rentals.
A signed Muhlhauser Barn Rental Agreement and 50% down payment is required to reserve the barn, plus a $500 advance security deposit for weekend rentals. West Chester Township accepts cash, check or credit card. Holds may be placed on available dates for up to 10 business days at no charge. There is no waiting list.
Tours & Availability
Renters are encouraged to view the space online via a virtual 3D tour. Barn showings are by appointment only.
Appointments to tour Muhlhuaser Barn in person can be scheduled on weekdays when the facility is not booked (typically Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays). The building is not regularly staffed but West Chester will do its best to accommodate your schedule.
Please check the Muhlhuaser Barn calendar for availability.
Dates marked “reserved” are already privately rented. Tours cannot be scheduled on these days. There is no waiting list for reserved dates.
Unmarked dates are available to rent or tour with a previously scheduled appointment. Contact us to schedule a tour.
Dates marked “closed to renters” are considered the off season. Muhlhauser Barn is closed for reservations in winter because it’s not heated.
Dates marked “open house” are open to the public in the off season. No appointment is necessary to tour the facility and ask question at an open house.
Doors are open on “West Chester Market” dates during the off season. Market vendors sell from 2 to 4 p.m. on select Saturdays from November through March. All are invited to come inside and look around, but understand that Muhlhauser Barn staff will not be on-site to answer questions.
