After a public hearing on Sept. 10, 2024, the West Chester Board of Trustees voted 2-1 against approving a Major Change for property that was once the Beckett Ridge Swim & Tennis Club.
M/I Homes sought the zone change to allow for construction of 61 single-family landominiums on the 8.73 acre site located at 5555 Beckett Ridge Boulevard. The property, currently zoned as Agricultural District, required a zone change to Residential Planned Unit Development in order to move forward.
The proposed project received approval from the Butler County Planning Commission, but a recommended denial from the West Chester Zoning Commission (July 15, 2024).
Multiple residents of the Beckett Ridge neighborhood spoke in opposition to the project at the Zoning Commission and the Board of Trustees public hearing.
Trustees Lee Wong and Ann Becker voted against the rezoning. Trustee Mark Welch voted in favor.
The public hearing is available to view on West Chester TV (starts at 30:34).
