Who we are

About The Reading League

The Reading League's mission is to advance the awareness, understanding, and use of evidence-aligned reading instruction.

Our story

Founded in 2015, The Reading League is a national education nonprofit led by educators and reading experts. We were born from a simple belief: that evidence-aligned reading instruction changes lives.

Every day, our network reaches educators, families, and leaders in 46 states. Through the Journal, the podcast, TRL Press, Compass, our annual Conference, and Professional Learning Partnerships, we translate the science of reading into practice that works in classrooms.

We believe all children deserve to learn to read, and all teachers can learn to teach them.

That core belief drives everything we do. It's why our programs prioritize evidence. Why our chapter network spans the country. Why we meet educators, administrators, families, and policymakers where they are and give them the tools to lead change.
