- St. Tammany Fire Protection District No. 1 is an independent fire district, not a City department. Emergencies: 911.
- Police
- The Slidell Police Department is a City department and runs its own site at slidellpd.com. Emergencies: 911.

Public Operations
The Department of Public Operations is responsible for supervising the offices of public works, public utilities, wastewater treatment, property maintenance, and airport operations. All in-house construction on the city’s infrastructure systems is programmed, prioritized, and scheduled by this department.
