Taxi Discount Program

Discounted taxi service is available to eligible Schaumburg residents that meet the following criteria: 

• Senior (age 65 or older) OR have a qualifying disability (age 18 or older)

The program provides the following discounts:

• $5.00 off the total fare when used for medical purposes.
• $2.70 off the total fare for any other purpose.

How to Register

Register at the Village of Schaumburg Temporary Village Hall located at 1000 E. Woodfield Road. For an appointment to register, please contact the Transportation Department by phone at (847) 923-3861 or by email at vostransportation@schaumburg.com.

Business Hours and Holiday Schedule

Qualifications to Receive a Taxi ID and Coupons:

• Resident of the Village of Schaumburg
• Senior (65 or older) or Disabled (16 or older)

What to Bring to Register:

• Valid Photo ID (Driver's License, State ID)
• Proof of disability if under 65 years of age

What You Receive:

• Taxi ID
• Information pamphlet
• Paper taxi vouchers for medical and non-medical purposes

How to Use the Vouchers

Call one of the participating taxi companies to book your ride:

• American Taxi Dispatch: (847) 253-4411
• 303 Taxi: (847) 303-0303

Please note that residents are advised to schedule a ride at least one hour in advance and allow for extra time as pick-up times may be limited in some cases.

• Fill in your name, Taxi ID number, start location, and destination before taking the taxi ride
• Write in total fare (not including tip)
• Show Taxi ID to driver when submitting coupon
• Use one coupon per ride

If you run low on vouchers, call the Transportation Department at (847) 923-3861 to request additional vouchers.

Because the participating taxi companies have guaranteed rates, log and track ride data, and enforce strict insurance guidelines, it is highly recommended that all rides be placed through the company ordering systems. Rides coordinated outside the company ordering system will not be guaranteed, and the vouchers cannot be honored.
