A permit is required if you are performing facade renovation on a commercial building. A plan review is conducted for such renovations. A minor amendment is required. If you have any questions, please contact the Permitting Division of the Community Development Department at 847-923-4420.
Current Fee - Based on Construction Value
Effective May 1, 2019, the fees for commercial, retail, restaurant, industrial, office or apartment building new construction will be calculated based on the construction value of the project. Fees are detailed in the village fee schedule.
Submittal Requirements
- Submit a commercial permit application through the OpenGov Permit Portal.
Required Inspections
- Rough framing
- If project includes electrical work, a rough electrical inspection is required.
- Final inspection
All inspections require a 24 hour minimum advanced notice. Schedule inspections up to 4 p.m. on the business day prior to the requested inspection date by submitting a request through the Permit Portal or calling Permit Services at 847-923-4420.
