About OMEGA

OMEGA has connected the region to state and federal resources since 1968. Its Appalachian Regional Commission investment record reaches back to 1966: $75 million+ in ARC grants to the ten-county region, leveraging $140 million+ in additional investment alongside them.

Four roles, one region

What OMEGA is, in four designations.

LDD

Local Development District

OMEGA is one of Ohio's Local Development Districts, the front door connecting local communities to Appalachian Regional Commission funding.

EDD

Economic Development District

As a certified Economic Development District, OMEGA facilitates applications to the U.S. Economic Development Administration's grant programs.

COG

Council of Governments

OMEGA is a collaborative body of member governments that plans, researches, and administers regional development on their behalf.

RTPO

Regional Transportation Planning Organization

OMEGA is the state-designated Regional Transportation Planning Organization for eight of its ten counties, guiding a four-year transportation improvement plan.
