The Newton County Commission is pleased to announce that Charla Geller has been hired as Newton County’s Emergency Management Director.

Charla comes to Newton County with 22 years in law enforcement experience from the Joplin Police Department. In her career, she has coordinated efforts regarding localized flooding, worked with Search and Rescue and First Responders, coordinated tornado efforts with many different agencies, and has many hours of situational training. Charla brings extensive grant writing skills to Newton County, which will be a great benefit in several areas for the county.
