Has taken a fellow who had not passed the bar
In their own words
We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit protecting the rights of refugees who are being targeted by the US government. Some of the most vulnerable immigrants seek out help at SJC because they do not know where else to turn to. They depend on us to help from start to finish. And that’s what we do – SJC doesn’t refer cases, we finish the hardest cases from the start.

LAAC has named every Dan Bradley Fellow since 2015 and every Public Interest Bar Fellow for 2026, and none of them were placed here. That is not a refusal: most California legal aid organizations have never been asked, and an organization that has never hosted a fellow can still be the first to hire you.
