Accessibility
Community radio is for everyone, and so is this website. We want every listener, member and neighbor to be able to use it, whatever device, browser or assistive technology they use.
The standard we work to
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA across the site, and we check new pages against them before they go up.
What you can expect
- Every page works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline and a link to skip straight to the content.
- The live stream and the archive player have labeled buttons and keep playing while you move between pages.
- Pages are built with real headings, lists and landmarks, so screen readers can move through them.
- Text and controls meet AA color contrast, and pages reflow on a phone or when you zoom to 200 percent.
Where we are still working
Many of the public documents KZFR has posted over the years, such as older board minutes, tax filings and reports, are PDFs made before this site, and some began as scans of paper. We have added searchable text to the scanned filings, but some older PDFs may still be hard to use with a screen reader.
Our broadcasts are live radio, so most programs do not have transcripts.
If anything here doesn’t work for you, ask for it in another format and we will help: a readable copy of a document, or the information it holds by email or over the phone.
