For child care providers
Provider Resources
Training that counts toward your hours, scholarships that pay for a credential while you keep working, accreditation support, and the Idaho early childhood job board. If you run or work in a program anywhere in Idaho, this page is for you.
Training and hours
IdahoSTARS carries the catalog
IdahoSTARS is Idaho's child care resource and referral and professional development system. It runs training across subjects, and it is where your hours are recorded.
Idaho AEYC adds the convenings the catalog does not cover, including the annual Professional Development Institute, where early childhood leaders and experts gather for training and connection.

Credentials and degrees
T.E.A.C.H. Scholarships
T.E.A.C.H. scholarships help child care professionals earn credentials and degrees while they work. The program is built around people already in the classroom, which is why the coursework is paced the way it is.
NAEYC accreditation
Accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children is the national mark of quality for early learning programs. It takes a program through self-study, documentation, and a visit. Idaho AEYC supports programs going through it, which mostly means knowing what the standards actually ask for before you write anything down.
Idaho ECE Job Connections
Idaho ECE Job Connections carries early childhood openings across the state, including Idaho AEYC's own. Programs hiring in your area post there rather than scattering listings across job sites.
Read the Quality Child Care Checklist as a provider
The Quality Child Care Checklist is written for parents choosing a program, which makes it worth reading as a provider: it is the list a family will be holding when they walk through your door. Download the checklist (PDF).
