A Message From the Executive Director Current GHRPC Staff

A Recent Success: Green Hills Regional Planning Commission has been awarded the Port Infrastructure Development Grant through the Maritime Administration. We will serve as the public sponsor for a Port Improvement and Expansion Project in partnership with AGRIServices of Brunswick. The project will provide over 8 million federal dollars to upgrade an existing port terminal with a new container dock and related mooring structures, add a new rail spur with a loading pit, and construct a new bulk agricultural supply building with conveyors between the rail and barge dock.

17th St. Bridge Project, Trenton

The City of Hamilton finalized a city-wide water distribution project to upgrade their water system and a drought project to secure connection for water access. This project was a combination of funding from CDBG, USDA, and the City of Hamilton. The City is already working towards their wastewater treatment system improvements, received a TAP grant to improve downtown pedestrian infrastructure and planning for future street improvement. These actions will ensure sustainability of current and future residential and economic development needs within the community. -Lisa Colson
