Animal Services Support Part-Time Department East Ridge Animal Services Summarized Description East Ridge Animal Services is committed to providing the highest quality care to shelter animals. The Animal Support services staff help to ensure that goal is carried out. The employee in this position is to perform supportive work functions associated with animal control services, animal shelter operations, and customer service. This individual helps to provide a clean, safe, humane, and comfortable stay for all animals while at the shelter. All duties are carried out according to established procedures for the maximum wellbeing of the animals. Work is carried out in the animal shelter where employees are exposed to animals that have various health and behavior conditions. The environment can be moderately to highly noisy, and there may be some exposure to animal-related allergens and health considerations. Qualifications • Must be at least 18 Years of age or older; • Possess a Valid Driver’s License; • High School Diploma or equivalent; • Verifiable experience working or volunteering in an animal shelter, veterinary clinic, or similar facility is preferred; • Two (2) or more years customer service experience required; • Knowledge of the care and keeping of animals, animal behaviors, and training preferred; • Must have morning and weekend availability as well as some holiday availability; • Must demonstrate a commitment to the animal welfare mission of ERAS.
